Helping Daddy with Laundry

July 21, 2011

Apparently Simon likes yogurt. This is Yoplait Light but it still had high fructose corn syrup as one of the main ingredients. We figured that out a little bit too late so now he only will eat sweetened yogurt and not the kids’ yogurt which isn’t as sweet.

His spoon skills are a lot better now too. He doesn’t get overly messy (but can still get messy if he’s too hungry).

Ron is teaching Simon some house chores. Here he is helping with laundry.

Second and Third Haircut

July 20, 2011

Ron said Simon was scratching his ears a lot and thought his long hair was annoying him in this warm weather… so he cut his hair (cut #2). So ugly! Now he really looks like Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber. Check out this haircut and them discussing brushing teeth.

Then they went to get a proper haircut (cut #3) at Lil Couture Salon in San Mateo. He cried for a full 10 minutes (Ron has a video) but the haircut turned out cute, but super short! This hairdresser was a bit more patient and quicker than the first one. After his haircut he went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Chung. He has his shirt off because the pieces of hair leftover from the haircut were making him itchy.

On their way home, they stopped by my work for us to all go to dinner. We ended up at Zachary’s Pizza on College Avenue. Simon couldn’t wait for the pizza but loved chomping on the bread sticks.

A Stroll in the Park

July 19, 2011

Simon taking a (fast) stroll in the park. The sounds he is making are so funny… kind of like he is out of breathe. He usually doesn’t like walking around and prefers us to carry him but on this day, he walked all around the park with Ron.

Afterwards they went to Ace Hardware. Simon picked up this foldable pink chair and wanted to carry it so Ron strapped it around his body. He was so happy.

Then he got to see their train set up. He was really excited.

Talking Tom Cat iPhone Application

July 18, 2011

Simon likes my badge for work. He calls it an “ID”. It’s not really my ID badge but it is my barcode badge for filling and verifying prescriptions… but I thought that might be too hard for him to say.

Simon’s full chubby cheeks.

At time we use our iPhone to entertain Simon. He finds the Talking Tom Cat app pretty funny. You can record a short segment to replay afterwards. Here we are just talking into it but I have “Itsy Bitsy Spider” recorded to play for him when he’s bored. I also have the Talking Ben the dog app which talks in a lower pitched voice.

At CuriOdyssey

July 17, 2011

Today we went to CuriOdyssey (aka Coyote Point Museum) for our friends’ sons’ third birthday party. Simon was excited to get his entrance stamp on his hand.

Then eager to eat some lunch.

After lunch, Ron played with Simon through the glass. Simon was laughing hysterically.

Then we went to explore the museum. You use those black things to hit the rods and it makes funny sounds.

Simon seemed like he had a good time exploring. He was all ready to do some work around the house when we got home.

Just kidding. I just like how cute he looks wearing these safety goggles.

Simon shows off his tunnelling skills. He seems to like to crawl through things and try to squeeze himself through. This time he decides to try it behind Ron’s legs.
