Christmas Celebration

Monday, December 26, 2016
It was a fun filled weekend but it is nice to have one more day off to rest. We are going to take it easy today. Iris slept in until 9:40am! She usually wakes up at 7:15am.  Little girl was exhausted from all the festivities!

We enjoyed seeing Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia in San Francisco on Saturday evening. Iris fell asleep in the car so was a bit upset when we woke her up on arrival but managed to enjoy the show. Simon was laughing out loud during the “clown” parts and Iris joined in too. It was so heartening to see them so happy and enjoying themselves. We didn’t know if they were old enough to enjoy the show so we took a risk and it was well worth it.

After we got home from the show, we set out milk and a cookie for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Simon found a letter from Santa in our mailbox for him, post marked from the North Pole!

They were super excited on Sunday morning to see if Santa came. He did come and bring them lots of presents.

They had a fun morning opening presents and then helped to make fruit skewers for dinner.

I wonder what Edible Arrangements does with all their leftover fruit after cutting them into shapes. We made smoothies and the leftovers made a lot! Here are the finished product and smoothies.

This Snapchat filter showed up on my account on Christmas. The Little Twin Stars, Kiki and Lala, birthday is on Christmas Eve.

I made these caramel cookies for dinner. I tried this stroopwafel recipe but realized I didn’t have the right press so modified by rolling out the dough thinly and baking at 400F by convection for 15 minutes. I used a cutter to make the scalloped rounds.

After watching some holiday movies, we headed out for Christmas dinner at my brother and sister-in-law’s house in Pleasant Hill. Ron’s family also came to celebrate and Simon and Iris were super excited to see their cousin Ethan.

We had a feast and enjoyed spending time with family.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
