Biking at Berkeley Marina

Saturday, March 14, 2015

Happy Pi Day!

We are now all sick, including our nanny. We skipped swim lessons this morning and took it easy at home. But decided we’d better get out of the house for some fresh air but not expose ourselves to others. We packed to bikes in the minivan and headed to Berkeley Marina.

Iris loves wearing her helmet.

Simon enjoys bike rides too. He is upset it that his bike was not yet attached to the back of Ron’s bike.

We rode around for about 30 minutes before lunch. We saw a drone filming, a dragon boat being worked on, a wedding ceremony setup, and enjoyed the fresh air (and surprisingly warm day)!

I’m still practicing with Iris riding in the front so didn’t feel steady enough to take pictures of Ron and Simon while I was in motion.

We went for lunch then a short visit to the Berkeley Humane Society to see the cats. We are not looking to get a cat but I just wanted to see them and I knew that Iris and Simon would both enjoy it too. Iris strolling down the sidewalk.

Playing around with a photo editing app, can you tell what is bigger than normal in this photo?

You can “enhance” target areas to make your selfies special. In this case, I made Simon’s eyes even bigger than normal and his thumb. He was showing Iris how to make a “thumbs up!” but she is not able to coordinate it yet.

A Bit of Happiness

Thursday, March 12, 2015

So everyone was sick at home today except that I went to work for half the day. I brought home some bubble blowers for the kids so they could get some fresh air and smile a bit during their illness. They both really loved the bubble sticks. Also the first time they’ve really been in the backyard to play.

A brief reprieve for their uncomfortable day. I also had a good 3 hour nap afterwards

Germs Have Multiplied

Iris complained of being hot last night so had to help her change pajamas but she slept soundly most of the night.

But the nanny reports she had a rough afternoon of crankiness, feeling warm, wanting to be held, crying, and just general discomfort. I came home with Simon and the first thing she wanted was for me to hold her. But, she forgot all about me when Simon opened his coin counter and she saw him putting coins in and wanted to try it.

After dinner, they both did some drawing with special black scratch paper.

Both of them had an early shower and bedtime. They had story time and a song in Simon’s room.

I love that they both love their zebras! Ziggy is Simon’s and Gabby is Iris’.

Bubble Bath

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Poor Simon was awake off and on last night coughing and with nasal congestion. He still didn’t sound too good this morning so I didn’t wake him to go to school. He ended staying home to rest and seems much better this evening.

Both kids enjoyed their bubble bath.

Seems like we have all been sick off and on for the last few months. We all got our flu vaccinations so I hope none of us will catch the flu but looking forward to healthier days.
