Iris apparently really likes soup! Surprisingly she didn’t make that big of a mess of spilling the soup everywhere. Might be a good time to start oatmeal or porridge.

We attended a birthday party at San Pablo park in Berkeley. There was a kid playground nearby and they also had a bouncy house.
“I just woke up from a nap but I really want to play in this sand!”
“Going down the slide is fun!”
There was also a mini LEGO building area. Here is Simon’s creation.
Both kiddos went in the bouncy house for a while. Iris really wanted to go inside when she saw all the kids jumping around but got a little scared once she realized how unsteady it was inside. She sat on my lap for a while but eventually stood up and tried to bounce too.

Today was Simon’s school’s annual yard and bake sale fundraiser. All the funds raised will be used to purchase additional supplies for the classrooms to benefit the kids. I was so happy to be able to bake something so made a whole slew of things, including these burger cupcakes that I’ve been waiting for an event to try them out. I think they turned out pretty cute. The “fries” were not so successful so I didn’t bring those.
Simon was going to help sell at the bake sale table but ended up running about playing with his friends. He especially liked this whistle straw toy.
Iris had fun exploring the toys at the yard sale.
She fell asleep in the car before lunch so I watched her sleep while eating.
We got take out from Spoon Bistro in Berkeley. It was delicious! Corn porridge with chicken, fried pot stickers, rice plate with beef, and kim bop with chicken and carrots. I predict we are going to be going here more often especially since it is so close to Simon’s school.
After we helped to clean up the fundraiser, we headed to Millbrae for a belated birthday celebration at Grandma and Grandpa Chung’s house. Just a simple dinner of pizza and entertained by baseball (and Iris).

Today we decided to visit the Little Farm in Tilden Park since we have not had a chance to visit since they reopened after their renovation. We brought along some lettuce and celery for the animals. Both kids eagerly walked from the parking lot to the farm.
Iris seemed a little perplexed to see the animals but became excited.
We fed the goats but they seemed a bit too eager for Iris so she was a little hesitant.
Both kids really liked feeding the sheep since they were more gentle.
Then it was on to the cows. Iris was curious then was a little shocked by their long tongues but not afraid as she wanted to keep feeding them but we ran out of vegetables.
We walked around the rest of the farm and I tried to take a nice picture of the kids but inevitably, they both did not really look at the camera at the same time. I got this good one of Simon.
Afterwards we went to eat lunch and Iris was exhausted after all the walking that she did not even wake up when we took her out of the car seat. She ended up sleeping through the entire lunch. She only woke up to eat a few bites then was not interested in eating anymore.
We finished the day with a visit to the playground in Berkeley Marina.

I went to work in the morning for a few hours which was not too bad because I had my little helper.
We got away around lunch time and ran some errands before heading home. Iris loves playing with Mr. Potato Head.
Simon and Daddy went to the Lawrence Hall of Science and they happily stayed there all afternoon. They even ran into some of Simon’s classmates from his previous school.
For dinner, we decided to try KoJa Kitchen where they serve “KoJa” (like burgers with buns made of rice) and rice bowls. We tried the braised pork KoJa which I really liked because meat was tender and had the hint of coconut miso.
These are their special fries which was a bit spicy. Iris would eat them while making a face but Simon couldn’t handle it. It has like a sriacha mayo.
This is the rice bowl which looks pretty healthy with all the vegetables.
We ordered Simon a “taco” which was a like a fried wonton skin with toppings but Simon did not like it and I forgot to take a picture of it…
Their dessert: mochimisu. I had to try this because of the name, reminds me of our kitties Mochi and Misu. It was pretty good too, had chocolate mochi mixed in the tiramisu and pretty creamy.
It was a nice evening on Telegraph Ave. It was good we went early to the restaurant since it started to get really busy around 7pm.
