Meeting Happy and Buddy

Day 320 = January 16, 2011

Simon likes yogurt again.

All ready to visit Grandma and Grandpa Tam!

Getting his rest so he’ll be ready to play.

Continuing to nap in the car before lunch. How wonderful it is to be a baby.

A beautiful day to be outside in San Ramon.

Meeting a jealous Buddy. Buddy is wondering “why is my dad holding a doll?”

Meeting a curious Happy. Happy is wondering “what is that weird smell?”

Uncle Tim.

In the living room with Grandma Tam.

“Hi-five!”

After a lengthy afternoon of playing, Simon is again konked out on the way home.

Simon didn’t want to sit in his high chair to have dinner so Ron stuck him in the Bumbo. He only sat there for a little while before he wanted to get out.

It’s a Gymboree Day

Day 319 = January 15, 2011

Simon moved up a class at Gymboree today since he cruises pretty well and now the time matches up better with his morning nap. He was actually excited about walking again with us supporting him. Recently when we tried to hold him up by his arms, he would just sit down but he participated in this song that involves walking around in a circle and turning round and round.

They had slide day today, you can see a mixture of fear and fun in his face.

Simon loves these whiffle balls at Gymboree.

There was also this setup where the babies bounce down this soft log. Simon’s expression seems like he is a bit confused but didn’t mind it so much.

After Gymboree, we went to lunch and tried this place called Taipei Restaurant. We passed by it plenty of times and so we finally decided to see what type of food they had. Ron had a rice dish with pork and preserved vegetables. He said it was pretty good.

I had their version of ja ja mien and the sauce was a bit salty for my taste but was nice and spicy. There seemed to be too much noodle for the amount of sauce though.

This is one order of rice roll. Ron found the rice kind of weird and the dough stick a bit chewy.

But the size was big enough to just have that for lunch.

As I mentioned earlier, Simon’s seems to be okay with walking with us again. Grandma Tam bought these “walking wings” for him but he refused to use it the first time we put it on so we kind of forgot about it. Ron tried it again today and Simon was really excited about it. The video is horizontal…

Ron taught Simon today how to toss a plastic ball back and forth with him.

Simon’s four top teeth have really grown in. He doesn’t like us to take a picture of them though.

Pretty soon, it’ll be time to visit the dentist again.

They Might Be Giants

Day 317 = January 13, 2011

Simon woke up at 4am, cried for 30 minutes, then slept until 7:15am. Not sure what was going on with him, maybe a bad dream…

He ended up not having much breakfast but we had to take him to daycare and he ended up taking 3 naps and eating a lot today overall. I hope he got enough rest and will sleep better tonight.

Ron’s caption for this photo is “They Might Be Giants”. Do you remember that music group? I remember this song: Istanbul was Constantinople, Now it’s Istanbul, not Constantinople, Been a long time gone, Constantinople…

Ron made fun of me for buying Simon this outfit. He says it looks like PJs. It’s just an all-in-one suit with a funny print. Ron thinks Simon looks like a court jester… and adding this ski hat makes it even more so.

This suit size is 12-18 months but it seems like Simon may have a long torso since it’s hard to button up underneath. Pants sized 12-18 months are usually too long for Simon but onsies always seems a bit short in the body length. I can’t believe he is already fitting these size clothes.

Blueberry Face

Day 316 = January 12, 2011

It’s been cold lately so Simon has been getting good use of his hats and hoodies.

For dessert tonight Simon had some freeze dried blueberries. He was a little messy so gave himself a blue mouth and bib.

As I was folding his laundry, Simon decided to climb into the laundry basket and model his new hat from Grandma Tam.

After doing his laundry, Simon has a whole bunch of new clothes, including PJs. These are from Grandma Tam. Simon enjoys having his hair brushed after bathtime and before bedtime. If he is fussing, when I start to brush his hair, he usually calms down and lets me finish brushing (before he fusses again).

He’ll be nice and cozy tonight.
