Day 39
Grandpa Chung came to visit Simon this morning and brought us lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. I’ve been craving some fresh fruit since we haven’t had time to go out yet for groceries.
In the afternoon, my co-workers Patsy and Monica, and Jessica (Monica’s daughter) came for a visit. They brought us lunch from Yellow Submarine. They have a delicious hot sauce on their submarine sandwiches. I’d mistakenly asked them to bring me a large sandwich, forgetting how large the large sandwich is… but oh so good.
Although they came over to visit Simon, I think Misu and Mochi stole the show. They are attention deprived so enjoyed the company. They got to sit in laps to their hearts’ content and had some playtime as well… all while Simon was sleeping and waking up every hour to eat. Simon didn’t have a good morning since he didn’t take a full nap so was exhausted during the afternoon.
Here is Jessica with Misu in her lap… well, sort of in her lap, the parts of him that could fit anyhow.
Mochi wasn’t as playful since she spent part of the time sitting pretty… away from us. Oh, look at Misu’s tail, he decided that Patsy needed a furry bracelet.
Eventually when Simon woke up, Jessica wanted to hold him. Unfortunately Simon wasn’t a happy camper since he was still cranky from not sleeping this morning. He’s pleasant in this picture but he would suddenly start crying since he didn’t enjoy being horizontal. He hadn’t been burping even after lots of patting his back and changing positions so we guessed he was gassy but it just wouldn’t come up.
Simon is discovering his hands. As I was trying to put him down for a nap, he was very fussy and discovered how to suck on his hands. Here he discovered how to suck on his thumb for the first time. It seemed to help calm him down a bit but we’re not sure if this is a good thing since his hands are so easily accessible, I hope he doesn’t become dependent on sucking his thumb. But then if we use a pacifier, he could become dependent on that too… so which is really better?
Right now, it’s just cute. We’ll see if he continues.
Simon konked out for a few hours after their visit. He really likes being rocked in the car seat.
I was so proud of Simon this evening. After he woke up from his nap, he did a little tummy time and was able to lift his head up like this for about a minute! So cute! His head flopped back down shortly after but at least he’s getting the idea… I wonder if this means he’ll be crawling soon? Yikes!
So ends another day in Simon-land…
