Southern California Wedding

Ron and I traveled to Southern Cali for a wedding. We took the earliest flight on Southwest out of SFO so arrived at LAX around 9:30am. We didn’t really have any plans except to do a bit of shopping then find somewhere for lunch.

We ended up near the airport at The Promenade at Howard Hughes Center. We were planning on seeing a movie but nothing good was showing so we did some shopping before going to Callender’s Grill for lunch.

Enjoying an ice cold diet coke.

Their delicious corn bread and honey butter. Always a crowd pleaser.

Ron had the angus burger with a thousand island like dressing. A bit messy to eat but grilled well. Too many fries though.

I had the turkey croissant club. It’s jam packed with turkey so was very filling.

After lunch, we headed to Torrance to check in to our hotel and take a rest before the wedding ceremony and dinner. The ceremony started a bit after 5:30pm and lasted about 15 minutes. The ceremony was very sweet in that they involved their dog as the flower girl. She did really well and only paused a few times to sniff the grass.

The newly married bride and groom.

Their reception followed the ceremony with appetizers and open bar. In the dining room, each table setting had the wedding favor of a piece of chocolate printed with their menu.

The salad.

The chicken (delicious mashed potatoes).

The beef (a bit tough).

Plus two surprises for the evening! First, a mini donut maker! They were delicious and fresh. I tried oreo cookie, cinnamon, and raspberry.

These are the ones with the oreo cookie sugar.

Lastly, after the dinner and dancing: sliders and fries.

It was fun to catch up with everyone from pharmacy school, not sure when we’ll the next chance will be.

Congratulations to Lynne & Joe!
