Koryo Sushi

We went to dinner with our friends Dylan and Erica at Koryo Sushi in Oakland. Dylan and Erica took good care of my car while we were away. We met up with them to pick up my car and to catch up.

We ordered the Crazy Monkey roll, Crunch Hamachi, and Shrek Roll. Dylan an Erica are vegetarians so they ordered the Veggie Dragon, Avocado, Black Mushroom, and Mega Veggie Roll.

The portions are generous and quite affordable. Our friends were glad we went as they’ve added to the list of places they can now eat.

Koi Garden in Dublin

We arrived in SFO about an hour late but luckily for us, Ron’s parents live and work in Millbrae so they were waiting with us at their office. My parents were will them so they all came to welcome us home. On arrival in SF, some of our luggage was delayed and would be arriving on the next plane from Singapore. I think it worked out better that way or else customs may have wanted to search through our lugagge! We’d already gone through so much packing and unpacking in Singapore, I didn’t want to have to repack and unpack again in San Francisco.

I went home with my parents while Ron stayed with his so that he could pick up our luggage that evening. I didn’t sleep much on the plane so when we got back to San Ramon, I fell right asleep (after checking on my kitties of course!).

My parents woke me up to head out to dinner. My dad and my brother both had their birthdays last week so we went to have a belated birthday dinner at Koi Garden in Dublin.

We had peking duck, winter melon soup, mushu pork, fish stomach, and steamed fish.

SIN to SFO

We are flying from SIN to ICN (Korea) to SFO. We almost didn’t make it because of our luggage situation… but luckily everything worked out and we boarded the plane in time and got all our baggage checked in after some repacking and having to purchase new luggage and having to convince the lady at the check-in counter that we weren’t going to pay $3000 to put our luggage on the plane! Yikes. We were stressed but very glad to get to the gate in time even after getting our duty free tax refund.

This was the first time I’ve been on Singapore Airlines and although the plane itself isn’t much different than other airlines, their in-flight entertainment can’t be beat, they have lots of current movies, current TV shows, and even older movies that I enjoy watching again. They have lots of foreign films too. I didn’t really sleep because there was so much to watch.

The food was okay but not the best airplane food I’ve ever eaten. I think nothing can beat business or first class meals.

We had a short layover in Korea so they made us disembark while they cleaned the plane before they let us on again. I’ve never had to do that before so it was a bit weird since the layover was only about 1 hour.

Almost home…
