NUS Canteen and Sakae Sushi

We really are trying to eat our way through Singapore before we leave… I think food will be one of the things we miss most.

Today at work was actually slow enough that we could walk to NUS for lunch. Usually we stick the staff canteen which is in the basement of the hospital. The NUS canteen is about a 5-10 minute walk. We tried something a bit healthier, an herbal soup with duck and preserved vegetables. It may look a bit oily but it was very appetizing with a bowl of rice.

For dinner Ron and I went to Sakae Sushi at Bukit Batok. We’d ordered delivery from them before but only had sushi. They have a lot of other things on their menu in the actual restaurant. The menu is on paper but is also available right at your fingertips as there is a computer monitor at each table with a mouse underneath the counter so you can just click and order. Pretty high tech.

I wouldn’t say the food was to die for but it was a cool experience.
