Tunnel crawl

Day 263

We went to Simon’s Gymboree class this morning and he discovered the colorful tunnel today. He was really excited to crawl through it. It’s a collapsible tunnel made of parachute-like fabric with a wire frame. He even tried to stand on it but since it is not really sturdy, he wasn’t able to get up completely into the standing position.

Hello everyone! Mommy was almost crazy enough to buy the tunnel for $30 but decided against it since he might get bored of it if it was at home. If he gets to play with it once a week at Gymboree then maybe he’ll keep interested.

Simon has a new fleece hat for the winter weather. This is supposed to be a 1-2 year old size hat. Simon has a big head! It also comes with matching mittens.

It is a dino print and has these three tassles on top.

Gotta keep warm during this winter. I wouldn’t want Simon to be uncomfortable again with another cold. I know cold weather doesn’t really cause colds but better to keep him warm and hopefully healthy.

Blueberries and Pineapples

Day 262

Ron has set up a laptop for Simon that plays music VCDs. It is sometimes on in the background so that he can have some nursery rhymes being sung while he is playing with other toys or sometimes he watches the videos that go along with it. The laptop has to be out of reach though or else Simon will start banging and drooling all over it.

Simon has learned to appreciate blueberries. I cut them in half so they would be easier for him to gum and he seems to really like them. He can pick them up by himself and put them in his mouth then proceed to eat them quickly and wanting more.

Today was Simon’s first piece of pineapple. According to Ron, he ate 2 little chunks without too much difficulty.

Pulling bins out again.

Notice Simon’s crooked jaw (his teeth are to the right a bit), something new he started doing recently.

Ron and Simon brought us some boba drinks and snacks at my work but unfortunately Simon was fast asleep so I didn’t get to give him a hug. Thank you Ron and Simon for bring us boba drinks and snacks! My coworkers and I really appreciate it!

Mommy’s Little Monster…

Naughty little man trying to reach for my iPhone on the couch. At least he is trying to cruise while he is reaching for my phone so in a way, it is good exercise and practice for him.

On our last visit to Grandma Tam, she gave Simon a little monkey puppet. It has really big eyes and lets you control his legs and feet (but his mouth does not open and close). He found it funny when I was playing peekaboo with it tonight.

Pulling bins

Day 261

Our camera was on the little couch we have in our bedroom and Simon discovered it! He loves electronics, the iPhone (of course), remote control, camera, laptop, etc.

Naptime after a day out with daddy.

During our evening playtime, Simon manages to pull out this large toy bin from his shelf.

He continues with the next bin.

Then mischievously laughs when he succeeds!

Comfortable Sleep

Day 260

You and I probably wouldn’t consider this comfortable but apparently Simon finds this position good for sleeping.

Ron said he slept like this for an hour or so, woke up to have lunch, and made a mess of himself so he needed a change of clothes after eating.

I love rubbing Simon’s little round belly!

He’s been drooling more again lately so we’re wondering if another set of teeth are coming in. We don’t feel or see anything yet. We should be more diligent with putting on bibs or else his little chest is going to get irritated from always having a wet shirt against it.

Playroom 2.0

Day 259

It seems like Simon is getting taller. He can now see over the edge of the crib. This is not necessarily a good thing though since now he wakes up in the middle of the night and stands up looking for us.

Simon playing in his new playroom. Somehow he got this ring of plastic beads around his body.

Now what do I mean by Playroom 2.0? We had originally rearranged our bedroom so that he had about half to crawl around in and play with his toys. Well after he got a taste of the freedom, he couldn’t get enough and kept on crawling over everything and trying to get out. So Ron did some more remodeling and made Simon’s playroom even bigger, now about 3/4 of the bedroom with only our bed and a dresser that’s ours.

Here’s a tour of his playroom by Ron:
